YMCA Swim Lesson Changes

Starting Sunday, Sept. 14, the YMCA of Greater Moncton will be making some changes to improve our swim program. The changes are highlighted in the points below, with additional information contained in the attached FAQ sheet.

(*Please also note that, due to lifeguard and swim instructor training, there will be no swim lessons Sunday, Aug. 31 to Saturday, Sept. 12. Lessons will begin again Sunday, Sept. 13.)

Peace building begins one step at a time with individuals and groups in our local community. The YMCA of Greater Moncton has been recognizing peacemakers who inspire and affect the lives of others through their peaceful endeavors. The annual YMCA Peace Medals honor youth and adults from all walks of life who commit their time to advancing peace in their own communities or abroad.

YMCA Youth Centre in Campbellton

Renovations are well under way to create a YMCA Youth Centre in Campbellton’s Memorial Civic Centre.

“We’re planning to open the centre very soon!,” says May Nazair, manager of the Campbellton YMCA Youth Centre. “The community collaboration on this project has been incredible. This will be an amazing asset for our region.”

Representatives from the YMCA have been working with an advisory group from the area to develop the Youth Centre in Campbellton’s Memorial Civic Centre, which opened in 1992. The Civic Centre – which currently contains two ice surfaces, two swimming pools, a 400-seat conference room, a fitness centre and other facilities – is used primarily to accommodate sporting, entertainment and commercial events.

Come and learn English at the YMCA on Sept 15th!

The YMCA of Greater Moncton in partnership with Anglophone East School District will be offering English Additional Language Classes (EAL). Classes will begin on September 15th and will be held at the YMCA of Greater Moncton on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The session lasts 6 weeks.

Classes are designed to improve the overall English Language Skills and are geared towards adults and mature students. Participants may register at the YMCA of Greater Moncton. 

Costs: $150.00 (tax included)
